Happy Friday one and all.
We had big news all round today.
So big in fact that I'm starting another paragraph right now.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced huge news...9 series and 2 feature films will all stream on Disney Plus in the next few years.
The series' are as follows:
Andor,
Obi-Wan (with Hayden Christensen returning),
Rangers of the New Republic,
Ahsoka,
Lando,
The Acolyte,
The Bad Batch,
Visions, and
A Droid Story
The movie news:
In addition to Taika Waiti’s still mysterious Star Wars project, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will direct Rogue Squadron. As soon as we find out any other movie titles we will be sure to let you know.
Well over a year after they were announced, Disney has finally let fans
know when they’ll be able to watch two new Star Wars series on Disney Plus.
The Rogue One prequel, which will be called Andor, is set to be released
sometime in 2022, while the Obi-Wan Kenobi is also on the way, but without
a specific date.
The Rogue One series will take place before the events of the movie and will star Diego Luna, who will be reprising his role as Cassian Andor. This series is likely to feature more espionage than most Star Wars movies due to having a Rebel spy at the centre of the story.
It is also possible that they may even tie into some of the plots or minor characters from the original trilogy, much like The Mandalorian has.
Lucasfilm also updated us on the next Star Wars show: Obi-Wan Kenobi. This will follow the stories of both the legendary Jedi that protected Luke Skywalker as a child and his best friend. Hayden Christensen returns as Darth Vader.
The series takes place 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith.
Ahsoka
Apparently, the project is still a long way off and there aren't many plot details yet but
we know that the show is going to be set immediately after the events
of Star Wars: Rebels, which means that it should all be before Ahsoka’s meeting with
Din Djarin and Grogu. This unknown period in Ahsoka’s life could serve
as a great setting for us to learn more about the history of the Jedi order.
The Ahsoka Tano series is set to debut sometime in 2022, will be created and executive produced by Mandalorian creator and executive producer Dave Filoni, who was an executive producer on the animated series Clone Wars and Rebels, where Ahsoka was an important character. The show will connect to another new Star Wars show, Rangers of the New Republic.
According to Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, the two series will crossover into a climactic event.
The new series, entitled Lando, is being developed by Justin Simien. However, this is still in the early stages.
Lando Calrissian made his Star Wars debut in the 1980s The Empire Strikes Back, and was played by Billy Dee Williams. A younger version of the character appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story and was played by Donald Glover. Williams reprised his role as Lando in last year’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
A release date and casting details for Lando were not announced.
The Acolyte, (not much is known) will be set during the High Republic era, a.k.a. the golden age of the Jedi, roughly 200 years before George Lucas' prequel trilogy.
The Bad Batch
“follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of
Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possesses a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find a new purpose.”
The Bad Batch were the primary new characters introduced in the final season of
Clone Wars episodes that premiered this past February. One Clone, Echo — previously thought dead, but rescued from Separatist forces — was granted permission to join the rowdy, weapon-heavy group on their never-ending mission of resistance. What happened to the group after Order 66, the Jedi massacre that wrapped up the first series and the prequel films, is a question the new series will solve.
There is no release date, as yet, but it’ll arrive straight to Disney Plus when it lands.
Visions
will be a series of animated short films that celebrate the Star Wars galaxy through the lens of anime creators. According to Kathleen Kennedy, there will be 10 "fantastic visions" in all,
The official Star Wars account tweeted the following:
"Star Wars: Visions, an Original Series of animated short films, celebrates the
@StarWars galaxy through the lens of the world’s best Japanese anime creators.
Coming in 2021 to @DisneyPlus."
A Droid Story
R2D2 & C3PO Animated Adventure.
Kathleen Kennedy said, “As we continue to develop new stories, the intersection of
animation of visual effects offers new opportunities for us to explore.”
“This epic journey will introduce us to a new hero, guided by our most iconic duo,
on a secret mission known only to them. What could possibly go wrong?”
A change of direction now with some of the things going on, on planet Earth.
Starting with huuuuge news!!! *Drum roll*

Drinking Coffee from White Mugs Might Be a Bad Idea
Coffee that tastes a bit "off" might taste a bit better if you pour it into a different coloured mug. A barista noticed that customers were complaining about the bitterness of coffee when drinking out of a white mug. However, when the customers drank the same coffee out of a clear cup they did not complain. This gave the barista an idea for a new study.
Researchers experimented with clear, white, and blue containers and the same type of coffee. They asked participants to analyze the taste of the coffee, and the results were pretty conclusive. The brain definitely associates colour with flavour. The study found that drinking from a white container tastes “significantly more intense” or less sweet than drinking from a blue or clear container.
Whatever, people. If it is caffeine I am drinking it. Now with my special Peppermint Bark creamer. I did a little experiment of my own this morning and as I suspected, my creamer is safe from Jarreth, who acted like I had tried to poison him.
Wacky-But-True: Man Loses Toothbrush ‘Up There’
A 73-year-old Russian who tried to relieve a painful bout of haemorrhoids with a toothbrush had to have the offending implement surgically removed after it “got lost up there.” The man tried to relieve the burning and itching of inflammation with more modern techniques but resorted to the toothbrush when all else failed. He went to an emergency room when he couldn’t get the toothbrush out.
I bet that took some explaining. I just hope it wasn't an electric one.
